Robert McCook, Founder

Bob is experienced in business and Christ-centered ministry. His background has prepared him for his work with men and organizational leadership. After attending Shippensburg University and Gordon College, Bob entered the retail-merchandising field with Wm. Filene’s Sons of Boston and then Lord and Taylor of New York’s Jenkintown store.
In 1968, Bob and his family were called by God to join the staff of Young Life. After fourteen years of direct ministry with high school students, Bob left to begin a new ministry to men and their families, which later became Priority One Foundation.
Today, Bob’s time is divided between speaking at men’s gatherings, being involved in discipleship and seeking men who are being called to the unique ministry of Priority One. Bob has now turned over the leadership of the annual fall outreach weekends to other staff who can devote more time to the planning and operation factors. These annual weekends are life-changing events that have a significant attendance of men from all over the Northeast United States.
On the personal side, Maureen and I have been married since 1960 and have lived in West Chester since 1974. We have three grown children, Lisa, Peter and David. Lisa and Peter, along with his wife and four children, are already living nearby, and David and his wife BethAnn are planning to move to here this summer.
Maureen and I have been empty nesters for many years. Our time is split between Priority One and Maureen’s work with Chester County Women’s Services, a pro-life ministry. Maureen often accompanies me when I’m speaking to churches and other organizations.
My hobby of photography continues and can be seen on my photo website, www.mccook.smugmug.com. We both read and love to find new restaurants to visit. However, my most memorable dinners are prepared and served by Maureen by candlelight in front of the fire in winter, or on the deck in summer. She is still my favorite chef.
